Hewlett Packard "Quick Launch Buttons".
QlbCtrl is needed to use the buttons above the f keys. not required for normal windows operations. |

This is part of the standard HP applications suite on new HP machines. I had it on an HP TouchSmart TX2, before disabling it using Advanced Uninstaller Pro's Startup Manager. Like many others on the HP forums, I found it ran continuously, hogging 40-50% CPU utilisation. Disabling it made no difference to running the laptop. It's only purpose (from what can glean from the HP forums) is to enable three quick launch buttons (physical) on the laptop, the functions of which are all accessible by software (Volume decrease, mute and increase). 50% CPU utilisation is too high a price to pay for such frippery! best to disable SmartMenu.exe.
