I would buy this in a heartbeat...IF I could get the installation monitor to work. It always crashes during the install process. I disable everything I can (firewall, antivirus, roboform)until I have the bare minimum left. Are there any known conflics that I should be looking for? Much depends on your actual config where you give no details ; aside from that , I had the same problem on my dead PC and this was a warning that something went very wrong! However , assuming that is not the case , namely your motherboard is OK as is your HD , remember that : disabling firewall and Antivirus do not prevent them to work in background ; if you do not tell what are your programs (firewall , and Antivirus ), not much help can be given ; at any rate you must check the configuration of both ! some antivirus (like mine Kaspersky 6 ) has rules allowing some programs to escape permanent checking or are "allowed " or exceptions ; the firewall may prevent access to internet for the monitor or blocks any registry settings ; check both settings very carefully ; I have no idea about roboform ; if nothing of these work , than something is wrong with Windows . best regrds OLIVIER GEBUHRER I appear to have the same problem as Darkman. It works fine with XP home, but doesn't work with XP Media Edition. Is this a known problem? I have no precise idea , but it could very well be the problem .OLIVIER GEBUHRER |

Sorry for the "drive-by" post without much information. I was frustrated and wasn't in the best frame of mind.
The actual program installed fine. I would reboot and the install monitor would show up in the task bar. Then I would try to install a new program and have this program monitor it. On all attempts, the monitor kicked in, showed me a screen with bouncing level bars and then ultimately the program died before installation would finish. I would get an error box that would not let me send or copy the information that was displayed. So I would reboot, and then kill the start-up programs to try and determine what was conflicting with this program. Nothing I killed worked...same installation monitoring problems, with the same error code results. Here is a quick snapshot of my system components: OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name DH6XZS71 System Manufacturer Dell Inc. I would buy this in a heartbeat...IF I could get the installation monitor to work. It always crashes during the install process. I disable everything I can (firewall, antivirus, roboform)until I have the bare minimum left. Are there any known conflics that I should be looking for? Since you are using XP, I have to ask if you have all patches and fixes installed from Microsoft Update, to include the "Custom" ones. Even though I installed the October security fixes, there was another fix right after that for MSXML 4.0 SP2 that I installed today. First off, you should have 768 MB RAM minimum installed for this. I noticed you do not have much Physical RAM left over. Your Virtual Memory is fine. Buy the Innovative System Optimizer and have its RAM Optimizer get as much free RAM as possible. Get the free Fresh UI program from Fresh Devices so you can tweak things like I/O RAM. Get Anti-Crash from Dachshund Software, as it may just intercept that crash and allow you to still work. Also, check to see if any Service Files are still in RAM and running in the background for the programs you have mentioned you closed. For example, if you use Webroot's Window Washer to delete traces of Internet activity, it has an associated Service File called wwSecure.exe that is not necessary once you have closed Window Washer. The workaround is to go START - RUN - services.msc, then scroll down to the Washer service and right-click it to "Properties". Change the setting from "Automatic" to "Manual" so that it will not run until you call Window Washer. Once you have done that and closed it, then you can use the Windows Task Manager (or Advanced Task Manager) to remove wwSecure.exe when you finish a wash and closed it, thus freeing up some more RAM. To be completely honest with you, I have run the monitor, but I have never used it on an installation, because I have concerns about other programs taking actions during the installation that I do not want reversed. Spy Sweeper informs me that even if I have every Process I can have shut down, my PC still has over 2,500 programs attached to Memory, so that is just too many files open for me to use the Monitor. Instead I have become proficient in using Regedit to remove any lingering Registry entries from an uninstall, and I have both hidden and system files visible to Windows Explorer so I can delete any left over files. I also have Microsoft's free Win Install Cleaner to eliminate Installer Files that are no longer needed after an uninstall. Darkman, I am using McAfee and Prevx Cyber Security - as well as the Windows Firewall - and since I have instructed McAfee and Windows to allow Full Internet Access for every .exe file within Advanced Uninstaller Pro, I don't have any conflicts. But some combinations of protective software will conflict. If you have Webroot's Spy Sweeper running, shut it down. It does block some things from running properly. Your protective software is alien to me, I don't know much about it. I get the impression you have Intel Extreme graphics, or something similar that is hard-wired into the motherboard. |

Hello all, I have not yet purchased the uninstaller but I am away to thanks to looking at the feedback given on here, I have an ongoing problem with a device driver that causes my computer to crash but cannot figure out which one is causing me a problem (because I am not that great at that side of computing). Anyway Anti Crash was mentioned by Rocky would it be wise for me to get that also?? I have already got a registry fix program but still seem to get a crash. Any advise would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Thanks, Carole |

I appear to have the same problem as Darkman. It works fine with XP home, but doesn't work with XP Media Edition. Is this a known problem? I use it with XP Media Center and have not had any problems. It is very tedious to disable or exit "all running programs" before monitoring an installation though. I tried using msconfig to disable "startup programs" but then the Uninstall monitor didn't work. |

I've got a screen rendering problem with version 7.6.3 of Uninstaller Pro 2006. Had it for quite a while, but as it doesn't affect operation I've not mentioned it before. Now it's just getting annoying. Problem is that the buttons at the bottom of the screen appear to be overwritten by the horizontal scrollbar (see attached screenshot which shows the problem far better than I can explain it).
Also of concern is the fact that if I uninstall a program using this app, the removed program remains in the list until I uninstall it a second time. This happens every time. System used is XP Proefssional SP 2 with all patches and fixes running on a 3.4GHZ P4 with 1024MB RAM laptop. Graphics provided by ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with 256MB RAM and current drivers. Can anyone suggest a solution to either of these two problems? Thanks. BTW is it just me, or is the layout of this Forum somewhat "unconventional" Attached thumbnail(s) |

Great program. I love it, but watch out for the registry optimiser it rendered my OS unusable I have used the optimizer and now I am missing almost all files at "My Documents" folder! All the favorites are gone, everything at desktop are gone. I cannot restore to a time earlier than the time I have done a registry optimizer. I have contacted the Innovative Solutions and they said there was nothing they could do.. There is a help file at the program regarding the registry optimizer, it says that it backs everything up before doing a optimization. Where it saves that file? i don't know, I write to Innovative solutions and asked but no one responded.... Glad most of you enjoy this program. I sure am having such bad time with it now |

As a user of this type of registry software for a number of years and possessing the abilty to have just enough knowledge to totally screw things up, I recomment always having an added program that will recover your computer, programs, files, folders and operating system. I have used Norton Ghost many times and have found it to be flawless. It's just what the doctor ordered and allows me to play, play and play some more. Genie Backup Software is also good. I use both! If you have a backup software installed restore the "my documents" folder to it's original location. It's worth a try. |
