It has been 7 years since any product caused me to take the time to write a review. If you had shown me this product , then told me it was free I would have said get lost I'm not a fool. But I am so wrong. It's not only fast and thorough but it just caused me to remove my Paid Pro version of Revo Uninstaller as this product found things the Revo never , ever did !. I am overwhelmingly amazed ! Please don't let there be a catch. jeff in Toronto , Canada.

I have used Advanced Uninstaller Pro Versions for the last few years and find it invaluable, extremely stable and it never puts a foot wrong when uninstalling. I look forward to the new Version 11.
I am a registered user and I was surprised not to get a warning of this update via my current version - I found this update via another source by accident??
I look forward to using this excellent programme in it's updated form

I totally agree with all of the above. Just a few minutes before discovering there even was a discussion board I wanted to write. This is one of the best programs at any price I have used in my 30+ years of computing. I am very grateful that it was developed, that it is so feature rich, and that it is so thorough and safe. I will not mention the price as it has no bearing on my assessment of this excellent program.

Two major issues:
1. the newest update available today requires that AVG stuff to be installed. In the past as a custom install the AVG could be avoided. This has to change.
2. For about the last 3 updates ( or more ) the registry cleaner no longer functions- always shows the same 2 problems and never repairs them.
Any comments on the above ?

I've used the best pay programs in this catagory, and this is still better - it's FREE.

The uninstaller feature is not strong enough.
It's still left some registry trash.
Hope it's better in the next version.

A great utility!!! I was able to clean up my two computers and get rid of junk programs that were really annoying. Easy to use and computer performance is enhanced.

I too have a problem with Registry Cleaner. I downloaded AU Pro four days ago and have realised that Reg Cleaner always shows the same errors in the registry. I tell it to repair them and it says it has done so but the next time I try again there is the same result.
Is there some fix for this please?

This is one of the best uninstallers I ever used. It's very easy and very efficient. it uninstalls like no other uninstaller program can or does. It's the only one I use to remove programs form my PC.

I've used the PRO version of this program solidly for almost 10 years and each update has always improved features and usability. Until Version 11 that is. It seems to have broken more than it fixes.
1 - User Interface: I understand the desire to integrate smoothly with Windows 8 (which has yet to be released), but unfortunately unless you own a pc with a touch screen (and does anybody actually have a touch screen pc?!), the number of mouse clicks required have now increased almost twofold. There is also inconsistency in the interface when returning to the previous screen: some involve clicking an arrow on the top-left, others require clicking a X on the top-right. The multicoloured layout is actually rather confusing and seems haphazard, for example, the Internet Browser Tools section: I would suggest that one colour for each row would make more sense rather than a different colour for each box.
2 - Registry Cleaner: Version 10 had an undo option. I did not immediately notice this was missing until I ran the registry cleaner which removed ESSENTIAL registry settings. I have an ASUS motherboard and use AI Suite II for overclocking, fan controlling and system monitoring. I also use DivX Converter. In the case of the DivX software, a simple reinstallation of it restored the missing registry settings. Not so with the ASUS software. In fact uninstalling and then reinstalling it also failed to restore them. I ended up having to do a System Restore. Secondly in Version 10, it was a simple matter to select a group of registry settings that you wanted the program to ignore. However now you have to select each one manually and then right-click to select ignore. Not an issue if you only have a few entries, but after the previous problem with the ASUS software, I had 186 entries I had to trawl through. 186 entries, I would add, that are present in the Windows 7 x64 registry on a clean installation. For a program to arbitrarily select these entries and tell you they are safe to remove when clearly they are not is worrying to say the least.
3 - Uninstall Programs: All previous versions had a forced uninstall button for programs that refused to uninstall or had their uninstall entries left behind for whatever reason. This has removed some necessary functionality from the program. More importantly however, I am finding that almost every entry listed, when attempting to uninstall, the program pops up with the message "Unable to run uninstall string. Press OK to start scanning for leftovers." While this message occasionally popped up in ealier versions it was only about 5% of the time, whereas now it appears to be almost 99%. The solution to uninstalling the program correctly in this instance? Use Windows inbuilt uninstaller. Not exactly acceptable for a program calling itself Advanced Uninstaller PRO, I would argue.
I wonder if this program underwent any kind of open beta testing? It would appear not. I would also point out that the Innovative Solutions website still lists version 10.6 as the current version when the version for download is 11.13. Not very up to date is it?
Finally, and this may be sour grapes on my part, but I have paid for the PRO version of this program for almost 10 years. I updated and paid for Version 10.5.7 and was very happy to do so. A week later version 10.6 was launched for free. Great. Can I get a refund? No chance, its just tough luck. Did Innovative Solutions really have no idea that they would be giving away for free the PRO version a week before my purchase? Well given the poor performance of the product since it has become free and the lack of up to date information on their website, it would appear that they are really no longer interested in this product. This time last year I would have happily recommended people upgrade to the PRO from the free. Now however, I would advise they avoid this product and look instead at one of their competitors.

Where is the Installation Monitor? Just installed today and I was under the impression that there was a Installation Monitor. It shows in the help file how to use it, but I don't see an installation monitor tray icon or anything related to it in the start menu.
Am I missing something or is this not included?
Thank you,

I have to say Ver 11 is not worth the small effort to upgrade. CCCleaner seems to do a simpler, "cleaner" job of everything except it doesn't recognize protected cookies.

cCleaner recognizes "its" protected cookies if you tell it to. Before launching the drive cleaner function, within cCleaner, select Options/Cookies which will display a two frame list set. One of cookies to kill & one of cookies to keep.
I too, haven't been to impressed with Adv U ver 11, especially since we have no clue what upgrades it's supposed to have since the "what's in the upgrade" page lists version 10 something and not the now current version 11 something.
While I'm ranting, why must these programmers go their own merry way and not follow de facto standards? Case in point with Adv Uninstall, no Help About. What's with that? When I install an upgrade to this program I have to go into xplorer˛ to discover if the upgrade worked correctly or not. Sometimes I wonder about these programmer people, Help About has been around how long?
I've wandered off topic. I'll shut up.

This is a superb simple programme for getting rid of unwanted programmes. No technical knowledge needed at all.
Many thanks

This software really a big help to get rid of leftover files from uninstalled software including registry keys, which other optimizer software can't touch those. only one feature i never satisfied "monitored installation" it takes a lot of time to install even a small apps, but still i'm impressed AUP.

Do not uninstall this with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, as it will uninstall itself, so it wont do anything more than regular uninstaller, but may not actually work.

maybe those registry errors are made by Advanced Uninstaller Pro, so it may remove them, but you start it back up, they are made again because the program makes them... err... that is a mouth full.

Adv. Unistaller and Windows 8? Is this supported?
Seems to work OK for uninstalling programs but I'd like to know if ALL functions are supported?
Speaking of support, there are problems. The Control Panel function shows wrong info, both on W7 and W8, it shows many enabled functions/icons of the Control Panel as disabled.
See screenshot, not all differences are marked, but you get the idea. The screenshot was from W7, but W8 is about the same.

My first impressions of this product are very positive. I have used many uninstaller products, most of which do not clean out the registry.

What I think is missing is a minimize button, which stops the program icon in the notification area.
The rest managed to look good, I have yet to try either.

This is a fine program in concert with ReimageRepair. There are some programs that 'refuse' to be uninstalled; e.g., Catalyst Control Installation Manager;. AU Pro took care of it with no problems. I've used it before for other stubborn programs. Great program and programmers.

Click to view attachmentI've had no problems in W8Pro. The only issue I have is that it doesn't let one choose to pin it to the Start Menu or Quick Launch. But, that is easily done.

One can deselect installation of all the AVG stuff. Watch for those 'camouflaged'

check boxes during installation.

So, you want the best Uninstaller!!! "Advanced Uninstaller PRO... Look at all the features of this Program. I have never had a problem with it. If there is a proablem. It is because some programs do not want to be INATALLED!!! When Installing a new program, check it for how many "GREEN STARS" it has from members. You are at the right place for "Uninstalling Anything" you are having problems with... Good Luck is not needed.
