This seems to be a part of the Java interpreter. Small programs written in Java, called applets, can run in your browser.. so Java needs a little "helper" in order to enable that.

smile.gif For anyone who may not have checked lately, Java has an update to the Runtime Environment, and the Version Number is now jre1.5.0_07. I eliminated all of the "_06" files first, then used Microsoft's Win Installer Cleanup to get rid of the Installer files, then I went to http://www.java.com/ to achieve a complete, fresh install with nothing left over from the previous iteration.

So where do you get this jre1.5.0_07? On Java.com's Manual Download page and its other download page, everything points to jre1.5.0_06.

smile.gif Seamaiden, try http://www.java.com/en/ and click on "Verify Installation".

If that does not work - showing you jre1.5.0_07 - then go to http://www.microsoft.com/ select "Downloads" and do a search for their "Win Install Cleaner" application (free). Save the Install File to your Desktop & run it from there.

After that, uninstall jre1.5.0_06 with either the Control Panel's "Add/Remove" or with Advanced Uninstaller Pro. Then run the Win Install Cleaner, find the entry for Java, and delete the Installer file. If Java is listed more than once, delete them all.

You should then be able to locate, download & install jre1.5.0_07.
