Many people have asked us how to uninstall the isearch toolbar. ISearch is an annoying Internet Explorer toolbar. Here is what it looks like:
In the image above, you can see Internet Explorer with the isearch toolbar installed. You can't easily uninstall isearch using just Windows tools because the uninstall entry which appears in Control Panel Add/Remove is invalid (it doesn't work).
Here is how to quickly and easily uninstall isearch using Advanced Uninstaller PRO:
We are dealing with a IE toolbar, so we start the IE Toolbars tool by clicking on the IE Toolbars item in the left navigation panel of Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is what it looks like:
Because isearch is an Internet Explorer toolbar, it appears in the IE Toolbars tool, as we can see in the image above.
So, in order to uninstall isearch, simply check the "iSearch Toolbar" entry, and press the Remove button.
We have now successfully uninstalled iSearch as a toolbar.
However, spyware programs often install themselves in many places on your computer. Such a program often installs itself as an IE toolbar, but also as an IE plugin, and also inserts itself into startup. The companies that produce spyware programs or evil toolbars such as isearch do this because they want their spyware to be hard to remove.
Because of this, we shall also check using other tools available in Advanced Uninstaller PRO. For example, we shall start the IE Plugins tool (by clicking on the IE Plugins item on the left navigation panel), to see if isearch also inserted itself as an Internet Explorer plugin.
Indeed, iSearch also inserted itself as an Internet Explorer plugin. So, we check the isearch toolbar and press the Remove button.
In addition to this, we should also check in the Startup Manager tool, to see if isearch also inserted itself as a startup item. But isearch doesn't insert itself into startup.
You have successfully uninstalled isearch.
